Shihan Pegeron

Karate Master Instructor

Shihan Carroll Pegeron is a Tenth Degree Black Belt, Grandmaster Instructor and has been actively involved in the martial arts for over 55 years. He trained in Karate under O'Shihan Isaac Henry, Jr. and Shihan James R. Henry and is an active member and instructor at RSKA.

In addition to his reality based classes, Shihan Pegeron teaches the RSKA students tournament style kumite. He motivates the students to train hard in order to excel. The RSKA tournament competitors and Black Belts look forward to Shihan Pegeron’s classes.

Shihan Pegeron proudly served in the Vietnam War as a United States Marine. Since returning home in the early 1970’s he has been a tournament competitor in both point tournaments and full contact matches. He has won too many Grand Championships to count in point tournaments and retired from full contact competition with an awesome record of 49–0.

As a competitor, he is featured in the book “The Official History of Karate in America, The Golden Age”. Although Shihan Pegeron is well-known as a kumite competitor, he is also an accomplished kata competitor. Recently, he successfully competed in kata at the USA Open Karate Championships in Las Vegas winning a Silver Medal.

Shihan Pegeron currently travels back and forth between the East Coast and the West Coast but is always at RSKA Black Belt Exams and other special events. He serves on our Black Belt Examination Committee and teaches scheduled classes and seminars at RSKA Headquarters Dojo.

Shihan Pegeron’s favorite quote:

"Regardless of how you feel inside, always try to look like a winner. Even if you are behind, a sustained look of control and confidence can give you a mental edge that results in victory."
