Hanshi Pegeron

Karate Instructor

Hanshi Carroll Pegeron is a Ninth Degree Black Belt, Master Instructor and has been actively involved in the martial arts for over 50 years. He trained in Karate under O'Shihan Isaac Henry, Jr. and Shihan James R. Henry and is an active member and instructor at RSKA.

In addition to his reality based classes, Hanshi Pegeron teaches the RSKA students tournament style kumite. He motivates the students to train hard in order to excel. The RSKA tournament competitors and Black Belts look forward to Hanshi Pegeron’s classes.

Hanshi Pegeron proudly served in the Vietnam War as a United States Marine. Since returning home in the early 1970’s he has been a tournament competitor in both point tournaments and full contact matches. He has won to many Grand Championships to count in point tournaments and retired from full contact competition with an awesome record of 49–0.

As a competitor, he is featured in the book “The Official History of Karate in America, The Golden Age”. Although Hanshi Pegeron is well-known as a kumite competitor, he is also an accomplished kata competitor. Recently, he successfully competed in kata at the USA Open Karate Championships in Las Vegas winning a Silver Medal.

Hanshi Pegeron currently travels back and forth between the East Coast and the West Coast but is always at RSKA Black Belt Exams and other special events. He serves on our Black Belt Examination Committee and teaches scheduled classes and seminars at RSKA Headquarters Dojo.
